  1. Amazing video Dr Kersten. Got to learn a lot from this. Here in India, most of the Pediatric Ophthalmologist as well as Oculoplasty specialists use a prolene suture for frontalis sling in infants. This is then replaced by something more permanent like a fascia lata or silicon rod once the child is ready for school. The advantage of silicon rod is the ability to adjust it multiple times if there is a late recurrence of the ptosis. The chances of granuloma and extrusion are slightly higher than fascia lata though.
