Lecture: Women Leaders in Eye Health Webinar Series

In a collaborative effort, Women In Ophthalmology (WIO), Seva Foundation and Orbis International have come together to coordinate a global webinar series on topics that speak to current and prospective women in ophthalmology. The topics focus on issues raised and experienced by female ophthalmologists and the series will provide practical advice and support for career satisfaction and advancement. The webinar series also showcases our collective efforts to partner with organizations dedicated to supporting eye care professionals to excel personally and in their careers.

Please enjoy the engaging sessions that include in total over 30 dynamic, global speakers and moderators. Speakers will share personal stories and experiences, highlighting strategies and key take aways on the topics discussed. There are also moderated Q&A session throughout each session.

To cater to different global audiences, there are two versions of each series- for folks in the Western and Eastern hemispheres.

For Sessions 1A and 1B, the topics covered are:
“Eyeing the Gap: Gender Inequities In Visual Health and the Workplace” examines global gender inequities in visual health and blindness and the impacts of gender bias in the workplace.

For Sessions 2A and 2B, the topics covered are:
“Catapulting Your Career: Seeking Out Opportunities for Growth” discusses how female eye health professionals can catapult their career and seek out career growth opportunities.

Session 1A (Western Hemisphere): Eyeing the Gap: Gender Inequities in Visual Health and the Workplace
This inaugural webinar series session kicks off by examining global gender inequities in visual health and blindness and the impacts of gender bias in the workplace.
